The week's now underway. Please check daily for basic subject assignments which your student wrote in his/her journal. Email any questions you have about class.

I introduced my classroom management system with Williams money. Students may earn money by good behavior, coming up with correct answers during class, or doing extra credit. I also give $5/day for them to do their jobs, which is to learn. Students not staying on task, not doing homework, or not following rules may have to pay back some of the money they've earned. Once every trimester I'll have a "Williams Mall" where students can sell items brought from home (made or bought). Money is exchanged this way, and a week later I hold a "Williams Auction" where I auction off stuff I've bought to get the money back into the bank. It's really fun, and it really works well for me.

READING I have been testing students during the "Power Hour" this week. This should be done by Friday so we can begin regular instruction next week.

WRITING Writing Prompt: "If I were an explorer and discovered a new land (planet, etc.) what and who did you discover, how did you get there, and what are you going to do now that you've discovered a new place?" We'll be typing this up in the next week or so.
